What if VaynerMedia employees were empowered to give back and storytell like NFL players?
I thought it would be pretty powerful to change a few of the words in the NFL’s My Cause, My Cleats press release article from last December in my attempt to inspire Gary Vaynerchuk so I can work for him for free and make positivity a heck of a lot louder in our world
Record number of VaynerMedia employees raise awareness through VaynerMissions
Published: February 20th, 2021
For the fifth-consecutive year, VaynerMedia employees will raise awareness for non-profit organizations and causes from their workplace through VaynerMissions. This year a record number of more than 1000 employees will participate, highlighting efforts to help make a difference in communities across the country. VaynerMissions launched on Gary’s birthday. VaynerMedia and its employees will continue to share their stories and post about their cause-inspired missions throughout the year
This employee-led initiative began in 2021 and has since provided a platform to bring causes that employees at companies everywhere are most passionate about to the forefront in their workplace. This year’s causes include topics such as tackling social justice, supporting families in the wake of COVID-19, and bridging the digital divide. Out of the total, 20.5% of employees selected social justice causes, 17% selected causes related to youth and education while 14% of employees will support health and wellness-related initiatives. Employees at VaynerMedia worked together and shared their stories by posting their VaynerMissions on their Vaynerversaries throughout the year.
“VaynerMissions was created out of conversations with VaynerMedia employees who wanted an opportunity to shed light on causes that mean the most to them,” said VaynerMedia CEO Gary Vaynerchuk. Year after year, I am inspired by the growing number of VaynerMedia employees that participate in VaynerMissions and the causes they represent. Each employee has a story to tell and we are grateful for the impact they make in the communities in which they live and work, and society in general.
Throughout the year, VaynerMedia will highlight employees and their causes on each employees Vaynerversary, or anniversary at VaynerMedia. The first VaynerMissions spot will launch on November 14th and will feature VaynerMedia’s Chief ❤️ Officer Claude Silver discussing her charity — Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. A second spot will feature Executive Vice President of Team GaryVee’s Andy Krainak who will call attention to mental health through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Additional VaynerMissions spots will continue featuring Tyler, who will support Charity Water, and the one and only Drock, who will represent the Wounded Warrior Project. VaynerMedia will highlight the stories, missions and charitable efforts of every single VaynerMedia employee that wants to share their VaynerMission on their Vaynerversary throughout the year
Employees have the option to raise funds for their cause of choice through posting their VaynerMission on their Vaynerversary and 100% of funds raised will be donated to the charities they select. Colleagues may support one another and build out their very own VaynerLegacies at vaynermissions.com/legacy and help raise funds for colleagues they want to support and for causes nearest to their hearts. Remember…
I’ve created and tested my hypothesis and model behind VaynerMissions by asking a few questions….
And I believe that companies and business leaders everywhere will eventually follow Gary Vaynerchuk’s and VaynerMedia’s lead
And when that happens, VaynerMedia will make the entire ‘game of business’ better in our future
Talk about legacy
For what it’s worth, I’ve already written the first draft to the press release we’ll share in 2026, 5 years from now, when VaynerMedia & VaynerMissions changes the entire game of business
