Executive Summary For Vayner Leaders
NFT’s, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology + the Metaverse have enabled a truly decentralized ‘Web 3.0’ experience that we’re going to continue to see hyper growth with throughout society over the next decade and beyond. There’s no turning back!
- Gary and other Vayner leaders already understand this ⬆️ and are anticipating this to trickle into the business world over the next decade and beyond. Over the next 5–10 years, every industry will become more and more decentralized & democratized, including our broken corporate philanthropy system. Currently, more than 90% of corporate philanthropy dollars are decided by less than .5% of the workforce. That’s not going to cut it in Web 3.0’s decentralized atmosphere. This broken philanthropic system will become automated, decentralized and employees will be included to make an impact and empowered to make a difference through a tokenized and gamified Web 3.0 experience

With the above hypothesis in mind, Trevor believes we need to incorporate more storytelling + personal branding opportunities for employees at the companies we all work at and I know Gary agrees with that too. Storygiving empowers employees to support charities, causes and colleagues that are important to them on their work anniversaries throughout their careers; similar to the birthday movement that Scott Harrison and Charity Water started back in 2006. Storygiving is the next scalable version of the ‘birthday thing’.
Storygiving is going to completely reinvent societies broken, lifeless, uninspiring, and low performing charity matching programs by tokenizing, gamifying and decentralizing how we give back in Web 3.0. Storygiving focuses on storytelling, support, engagement and decentralization amongst Storygivers at companies that believe in supporting and including their employees to give back to causes that matter to them.
Yesterday, NFL players were empowered to share their passions by supporting causes and charities important to them on their cleats for the 7th consecutive season. Here’s the list of Gary’s favorite New York Jets players that decided to make a difference. Think of Storygiving like the My Cause, My Cleats campaign, but not limited to the high profile NFL stars for causes that they’re passionate about supporting. Eventually, Storygiving will be for everyone.

That begs the question: What if Vayner employees were empowered to give back and storytell like NFL Players? As Trevor just said, eventually Storygiving will be for everyone. By 2030 it’s his belief that every single corporation will need to have a storygiving corporate strategy, just like it’s become essential for companies to adopt and implement social media strategies over the last 5–10+ years and just like we’re seeing with NFT’s + Crypto right before our eyes today.
Potential Opportunities for Vayner Leaders
Starting in 2022, VaynerX can + should create immediate value to its brand, its employees + worthy charities and causes they each care about by starting to build the future of what Storygiving will look like while simultaneously enhancing Vayner culture and setting a precedence as society adapts to Web 3.0 technologies because Trevor believes ALL employees are worth supporting ❤️
VaynerX has the opportunity to disrupt and create yet another industry (Storygiving) by putting their employees first simply by empowering them to focus on their personal brands and by sharing causes that are important to them on their Vaynerversaries. In turn, VaynerX will have an opportunity to ‘find right’ and influence the next wave of digital communication, innovation and storytelling by testing this decentralized + engaging corporate giving model out internally at Vayner in 2022, with the more audacious vision of eventually bringing Storygiving to life at companies everywhere by 2030 and beyond.

Recommended Next Steps For Vayner Leaders
By embracing Storygiving and VaynerMissions as a part of Vayner’s corporate strategy in 2022 we can position Vayner as the early adopter company in this Storygiving space before it inevitably becomes the new normal as Web 3.0 goes mainstream. This will help Vayner continue to attract talent and develop a culture capable of keeping pace with the next round of innovation while adding value to Vayner employees’ lives + Vayner’s brand! VaynerMissions will also add to Gary’s personal brand as a business leader who continues to put his employees first and Gary’s future stake in the Storygiving platform will add to his investment portfolio + one day help contribute towards Gary’s quest to buy the New York Jets.
Recommendation: Hire Trevor As The First Ever VaynerMissions Community Manager at VaynerX
Hire Trevor as the DRI to partner and work directly with Gary, Claude, Andrea + any other important Vayner leaders to build out VaynerMissions in 2022.
As we head into 2022, what other conversations or resources are needed from Trevor so we can start VaynerMissions? All we need is…
- Buy in from Gary, Claude, Andrea + any other important Vayner leaders
- An agreed upon $ amount per employee
- An approved list of charities that Vayner employees can choose for their VaynerMissions on their Vaynerversaries
Trevor has everything built out via Slack and it’s turn key ready once these three action items are confirmed by the proper Vayner decision makers!

One Piece Of Content Can Change Your Life ❤️
When Trevor met Gary over dinner in November 2018, he saw G share the picture of the ‘random dude’ on the left while he was in the airport ✈️ from LAX to PHX. Trevor wanted to make a memorable and lasting impression with Gary because he believed in his ❤️ that they’d eventually work together someday. Here’s what Trevor documented on Instagram back in 2018

Since meeting Gary that night back in 2018, Trevor’s created over 10,000 pieces of content as he’s also built out the foundation for what VaynerMissions, and the larger and more audacious vision of Storygiving, will look like in the future. VaynerMedia posted this on LinkedIn a few days ago, so Trevor decided to create and document some new, memorable and compelling content ⬇️ to share with Gary, Andrea, Claude and other Vayner leaders very soon!

And this ⬆️ was originally inspired by ⬇️

At the end of the day, Trevor’s been on this journey for the last 3 years. He doesn’t know if it’s going to be this very article, his next tweet, his next conversation with Andrea or a conversation with Claude 6 months from now, but he knows he’s in this for the long haul. Just like Gary’s obsessed with the process on his quest to buy the New York Jets, Trevor’s become obsessed with the process to finally have a chance to talk, work and partner with one of his idols — the one and only GaryVee. Trevor wants to acknowledge that he’s very grateful for Andrea Sullivan and Claude Silver for taking the time to get to know him and understand VaynerMissions and Storygiving in more detail over the last few months as they’ve continued to have important conversations. Trevor hopes this article showcases something even more in him, his work ethic, creative thinking and his vision of VaynerMissions + Storygiving that he hasn’t been able to show either Andrea or Claude over Zoom yet. He knows that this is just the beginning and Trevor couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come!
